Maternal Health Equity Project

ONGOING PROJECT

Through a partnership with the New Commonwealth Fund for Racial Equity and Justice, advancing their $2.5 million Maternal Health Equity Project, Vital CxNs is partnering with community organizations who have trusting relationships with key community stakeholders to co-create community-based mental models of maternal health.

Collaborating Organizations

Through facilitated community conversations, we hope to increase awareness and acceptance of non-dominant maternal health models of care and understand community-based mental models of maternal health that are focused on community cultures, values and priorities.

By leveraging programming to support personal behavior change, we seek to understand community-level opportunities that will kick-start iterative cycles of learning and impact. Not only do we hope that this community-engaged project will influence opportunities that exist within community-based non-dominant birth supports, but also build bridges between those efforts and Boston’s traditional network of maternal health care delivery.

The Pregnancy and Family Resource Guide

The Pregnancy and Family Resource Guide brings together local resources and services that support a healthy birth and parenting journey for expectant and parenting families. The guide includes (but is not limited to) information related to maternal health, housing, childcare, safety, education and workforce development to support families in accessing the resources they need to thrive.
